Sizing
In order to be safe, you must select your helmet in a size which fits your head correctly, this means the helmet must fit snugly (tightly but comfortably) making contact with most parts of your head. If it is too large it will move excessively on your head. If it is too small it will cause constriction and discomfort, which could lead to lack of concentration. Put the helmet on and then shake your head to the left and right. then shake your head forward and back, also try to turn the helmet with your hands. If it slips in any direction easily, the size is not the correct on for you. Rotating the helmet from side to side, observe the movement of your skin in relation to the helmet. helmet fitting is correct when skin movement and helmet movement are nearly the same. For proper sizing of your new KBC helmet it should always be done by an authorised KBC dealer.
CAUTION: position: Do not put on the helmet and fasten the buckle when your helmet is hanging on the back of your head. Remember to always wear the helmet in its correct position.
Nitro helmets are available in the following sizes:
- Extra Small (53-54cm)
- Small (55-56cm)
- Medium (57-58cm)
- Large (59-60cm)
- Extra Large (61-62cm)
- Extra Extra Large (63-64cm)
Everyone's head is a different shape, so we cannot comment on individual sizing queries.
What we can say is that, broadly speaking, the Nitro helmets fit pretty much the same as Arai and Shoei. We get very few returns.

HOW TO FIT A HELMET AND RETENTION SYSTEM:
The best way to put on the helmet is to hold the chin straps each side and pull it over your head. Pass end of strap through the d-rings and pull it. Keeping head straight, rotate the helmet from side to side, if helmet is adjusted properly, you should feel the movement of your scalp should be closely equivalent to the helmet's movement. With your hands on the sides of the helmet, lift the helmet slightly up and down motion, once again the movement of your skin should approximate the helmet movement. To remove the helmet, pull the d-ring tab outward, to release strap tension, then un-thread, the chin strap. Pull the chin straps outward, rotate the helmet forward, and lift it off.
PLEASE NOTE:
- No helmet can protect the user against all foreseeable impacts.
- For maximum protection, helmet must and should provide adequate peripheral vision.
- All retention straps (chin straps) must be securely fastened.
- Apply only mild soap and water.
- Make no modifications.
- If helmet experiences a severe blow, please replace it.
VERY IMPORTANT FITTING TEST...
ROTATIONAL TEST
THE MOST IMPORTANT TEST IS FOR THE HELMET TO BE WORN ON THE HEAD CORRECTLY, FASTEN THE STRAP CORRECTLY AND THEN LIFT FROM THE REAR OF THE NECK AREA AD TRY TO ROLL THE HELMET OF THE HEAD, MAKE SURE THIS CANNOT BE ACHIEVED AND THAT THE HELMET REMAINS TIGHTLY FIXED TO YOUR HEAD AND THAT THE STRAP STOPS THE HELMET FROM COMING OF THE HEAD.
Your helmet will have the regulation stamps for the UK/EU market. That is, it will be marked with the British Standards Institute Certification or Equivalent EU mark which makes it legal for the UK roads, and if appropriate, the Auto Cycle Union approval stamp for racing within the UK. It is the purchasers responsibility to ensure the legality of their chosen helmet for use within their own country.
One Stop Motorcycles cannot be held responsible for any losses, direct or otherwise which result from the ignoring the above statement.
Leathers
Leathers should fit like a second skin, and should therefore be tight when purchased. Over time the leather will stretch and shape to you and your riding position. It is important for the armour to be positioned on the vulnerable areas correctly. The position of the knee armour should be tested by kneeling on the floor to simulate the point of impact. Elbow armour should fit securely to the arm in the bent position with little rotation. The cuff should be reasonably tight on the wrists. All leather jackets and suits are sized according to your chest measurement. Jean size is determined from the waist measurement. English sizes are shown in inches ie 40", 42" jackets, 30", 32" jeans. Some manufacturers use a european scale. These have been converted below.
